I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500
with a 5.7. my wife was driving it and it died not far from the house. It did not seem to be getting fuel pressure. Changed the fuel pump and it started. I drove it around and it seemed to run fine but with a check engine light. Got a p0113 code probably from having the air box off and trying to start it. Once I cleared the code it no longer starts.
JA: How many miles are on the car? Have you had the fuel pressure tested recently?
Customer: 160,000. I do not have a pressure gauge but the first time it happened I pressed the Schrader valve and air came out, after it ran and then again wouldn't start it had a solid fuel spray and after that it seems to just be a light poof of air. I can get a gauge but don't have one now
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes I was. I have tried the fuel pump and putting a little gas down the throttle body.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: The computer was replaced 2 months ago for a throttle issue
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Dodge Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.
