Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! If the backfire was in the intake then most likely you now have a vacuum leak and the intake will need to be replaced. It will go into electronic throttle control limp in if it sees a large vacuum leak, the engine revving high when it did start points to a vacuum leak.Do you know what fault codes are setting?
