JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with a Dodge. The Dodge Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: Trying to replace the belt tensioner can't get it off
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?

Customer: Should be the bolt in the center right?
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Dodge Mechanic should know about your Dodge?
Customer: Jist need to know how the tensioner comes off and what size the bolt os
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer where you can place your fully refundable $5 deposit (plus $13 after the Dodge Mechanic responds). While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Dodge Mechanic about your situation and connect you two.

13 mm headed bolt in the center and the entire assembly will come out, are you in a highly rust prone area?

Expert:  bill replied 1 year ago.

if you rounded the bolt a 1/2 (which is a hair smaller than 13mm) tapped on with a hammer will USUALLY release the bolt

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I've tried that ot just slips offturn counter clock wise right?
Expert:  bill replied 1 year ago.

yes lefty loosy, are you using a 3/8 drive 6 POINT the area gets corroded and is very tight.

I use a 3/8 impact gun to loosen the bolt never had an issue, BUT I do have issues if I am using a hand wrench and socket, ESPECIALLY one that is too deep or a 1/2 inch drive one.

you STILL haven't said if your in the rust belt or not,

I live and work in Connecticut we have issues with corrosion

so corrosion shouldn't be an issue but you haven't answered what type of socket 6 or 12 point, 1/2 or 3/8 drive , you may need to use an air tool if you can't break it free
