I've got a big problem with my '04 RAM 1500 Truck (4.7L

Customer Question

Hello there,
I've got a big problem with my '04 RAM 1500 Truck (4.7L engine) w/o remote
Since 3-4 months now, it will not start anymore.
I just stopped to use it for over 3 weeks, and problem started.
Everytime I turn the key for ignition, it will only show Brake+Abs lights, for a short time.
Battery voltage is not shown anymore
The little square which shows which speed is in use, will not show either.
And the gearbox lever is "slack"
> Already tried 3 new batteries
> If I manually push the starter relay, I can hear it works
> I ordered a second used PCM and nothing changes
> Tried to find a circuit breaker but there's not.
> Diagnostic tool cannot make a connection with the car
Any solution ? Thank you VERY much!

Hello and welcome! My name is ***** ***** I can assist you with your question. It sounds like the PCM is not awake with the key on. It may just be missing a power or a ground or perhaps it is being shorted out by a sensor. Have you checked the reference voltages with the key on?

Hello Amedee,
I'm not really good at electricity but I've got tools.
I already bought another used PCM and I've not seen any change.
How can I be ensured that it is a PCM problem, how can I check the voltage?
Thanks

Hello and sorry for the delay! You are going to first need to see if the computer is awake with the key on. I would turn the key on and check for a 5 volt reference to the TPS and MAP sensor. If there is no 5 volt reference, then the computer is not awake.

Hello,
Where are the TPS and MAP sensors located?
When I turn the key for ignition I'm hearing a little "thick" coming from a relay in the engine compartment. But it's not located in the fuse box.
Also, I thought it could be the cluster. So I change the cluster with another RAM (2002 year), and it makes the things worse. My cluster is damaged and I cannot lock the doors anymore.
