Good afternoon and welcome to JustAnswer!!

Are you saying that you replaced the 4.7 engine and now the ASD pin 85 has no ground from the PCM? Do you see a theft security light on in the dash? Is the check engine light on and if so what codes are setting? Also with a scantool under PCM what does it show for Theft State?

Talk soon,

Theft light is going out with key on,no crank,am getting hot at relay with ign. Start, send ground to relay cranks with key
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are you there and why have I been charged with no answet
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

I attached 2 wiring diagrams for the ASD and starter.. If the starter will not engage then you will need to remove the starter relay and test pins 30 for 12v, 86 for 12v and 85 for a ground from the PCM..

Let me know what your missing.

Am not getting ground from pcm,can put external ground and it cranks and starts
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
We're does pcm get its signal to ground relay
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

The PCM provides a ground to pin 85. If it is not sending a ground then the PCM is not seeing a crankshaft signal, park signal, or theft. Does the scantool say "Ok to start" or denied due to theft? Also does it show a crankshaft signal?

Is this a used engine? And if so is it the same year or newer?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Scan tool pcm is seeing theft, prndl, desired asd relay off, fuel pump off, double start override off
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

So it's showing theft? And you said the security light is not on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No,it is seeing the key
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Have cam and crank correlation, pcm is not turning anything on
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

And no codes? Was this a new or used engine and what year did it come from if used?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Same engine rebuilt it did not change crank
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

Ok good, glad were not dealing with a wrong engine JTEC vs NGC.. So to be sure it shows Ok to start, or does it show theft? If you move the shifter to neutral does it start? Can you locate the FCM(Front Control Module) which is the silver box mounted to the fuse box, and remove it and re-install it and see if it will start.. There is a software flash addressing a no start due to the FCM enabling theft, so lets see if a reset helps..

Also when you supply the ground and start it, does it set any codes? And will it continue to run?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

Can you connect a jumper cable between the battery negative post and a clean, unpainted metal part on the engine and see if it will crank?
