1998 Dodge Ram turbo diesel 12 valve. Leaking timing gear cover, does this require dropping the crank shaft to repair it? Best way to repair it?

You do not need to drop the crankshaft. The easiest way to do it is to remove the radiator first to get the clearance then go to it. Its pretty self explanatory when you get in there.
