I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus SXT. When I get off the freeway

Customer Question

Hello. I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus SXT. When I get off the freeway after heavy traffic, my car will occassionally stall when I get to a stoplight. After I start up again, it stalls again at the next stoplight. Internet research tells me it might be a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid problem. Is this something that's easily fixed (possibly DIY) or is this one of those expensive transmission repairs that costs more than the car is worth?

why it stalls depends on what codes set in the engine computer, if there is a torque converter problem the computers WILL set a fault code, and any failure EXCEPT a fuel pump will set a code, have you used a code reader or scan tool to see what codes are setting?

many things will cause a stall, from something as simple as a dirty throttle body or wrong (platinum) spark plugs to something as complicated as a bad sensor
