Dodge Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello. When you are attempting to crank the engine, do you get a click or anything at all?
Ok. Are you absolutely positive that your battery is fully charged? I would first try to jump start it just to be sure that it's not a low battery issue. Even if all the lights come on and everything seems normal, it could still very possibly be a low battery. The engine requires a lot of power to crank. Try that and let me know what you come up with please. If you have already tried that let me know.
Have you tried tapping the starter motor with a hammer while attempting to crank to see if it starts to crank? If you are certain that the battery is not the problem, then it's most likely a bad starter motor.
Is the click coming from the starter? If so, then it's either a bad starter, or a battery without sufficient power to turn the engine.
Can you check to see if your getting power to the starter?
Do you have a test light?
ok. Check to make sure that your little wire on the starter has power when attempting to crank the engine.
If your starter is getting power, but won't crank then your starter needs to be replaced. If it's not getting power then I will guide you through testing the relay.
That's fine. I will be here when ever your ready. I wish you only the best of luck with your recovery. Please take your time.
