Customer Question

1995 Dodge Intrepid 3.3 engine. When I first start it up, it wants to die and sometimes does-- won't idle. After it is run down the road for a few minutes ( 1500-2000 rpm) it runs fine, but if I turn it off and re-start it, we go through the same process over again. Tony

On the throttle body is a part called the diel air control. Most likely it is sticking due to carbon build up. If that happens the engine will not get enough air when cold and tends to idle roughly or stall. It is a fairly inexpensive part (under $50) and easily changed if you do your own work. It is also recommended to clean the port where it installs thoroughly when you replace it.
