Not quite sure what you mean by "galloping" - engine idling going up and down or engine surging in drive

If idle going up and down then this is likely either vacuum leak or idle control motor, and if surging, then this could be a faulty engine coolant temperature sensor or sticking throttle actuator cable or actuator
