08 ram 3500 6.7l New batteries in June. New (reconditioned)

Customer Question

08 ram 3500 6.7l
New batteries in June. New (reconditioned) alt in july. Brand new alt today.
Periodically fails to charge with no apparent reason. Seems to be getting worse. Batteries and alt & charging system checked out strong at the shop a couple days ago. Been fine since Fri when it totally died and they serviced it.
Today, was fine this morning, off for 3 hours, started and not charging.
Are there sensors to check or what?

What is the voltage showing when its "not charging" and do you have a scan tool with live data?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Scan tool? Don't think so.
I have a Smarty Jr programmer & emissions crap is gone.

Try swapping out fuse 42 and 28 in the TIPM. Clear the codes and retest. Let me know if anything changes.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
They look 100%. I don't have a replacement on hand to switch them

Whats your voltage on the red wire in the two wire connector?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
We got the issue resolved thru the fellow who looked after my truck the last time it had a mystery problem, thank you. It was quite simple. The wires had pulled away from the point of contact where they hooked on to one battey post. We could not see this just by cleaning them, we took them all apart.
