Mechanic changed wheel bearing on front of 2002 Dodge Neon.

Customer Question

Mechanic changed wheel bearing on front of 2002 Dodge Neon. My rotor is very loose. He says tighten the lug nuts. This isn't working. Can rotor be installed backwards?

Hello I will help you with your question,

The rotor is held to the hub with the lug nuts so if the rotor is loose are the lug studs and the hub moving with the rotor if you have the lug nuts tight?

If that is what is happening see if the large nut on the center of the hub is tight, if it is then the problem is in the bearing.

Has the person that replaced the bearing looked at this or are you working on this yourself?
