We own a 2013 Dodge Journey. The front end has a crunching

Customer Question

We own a 2013 Dodge Journey. The front end has a crunching sound when impacting a speed bump or any small imperfection in the pavement. The dealer has not located a problem. I am assuming they are lubricating parts in the front end. The reason for my assumption, is after visiting the dealer the vehicle is quiet for a couple of weeks.

If they checked it correctly and found no issues I would suspect the dust shields or the strut bearings which are of poor construction. It could even be the struts themselves. I cannot explain why the noise went away for a period of time.
