My wife ran her 2004 dodge dakota in to a ditch, pretty mean impact
the fuel pump stopped working
and the dodge dealer I know says there is no inertia switch

that is correct never had one never needed one, only FORD's had such a switch

what do you think happened to cause the fuel pump to stop working, I direct wired the fuel pump to test it and it works fine

ok if you direct wired the pump, have you checked the fuses under the hood?
and have you checked for power AND most important the ground to the pump,
remember the pump ONLY receives power while the engine is cranking and running, as well for 10 seconds at first key on to prime the system
