Ram: Dodge 2008 3500 Ram diesel 4x4 with 55000 miles on it,

Customer Question

Dodge 2008 3500 Ram diesel 4x4 with 55000 miles on it, was running fine and then it started to hesitate and "buck". We have had a problem like this before (3 times before),and it has always been the turbocharger being dirty. Twice it was cleaned on warranty and once we had to pay. This problem always occurred exactly 1 year apart so we thought that this was the problem this time since we were familiar with these symptoms. We drove the truck immediately to a dodge dealership and on route the engine warning light came on. We got a call today and were told that the exhaust is completely filled (we never got a regeneration warning) and that the system would have to be completely replaced. Also, we were told that "something" (like defective injectors) must be causing the problem and that problem, of course, would also have to be looked into and repaired.
If all of this is true the fix is going to be quite expensive. Somehow I find it hard to believe that the exhaust got suddenly full with no warning ("system ok" was on the monitor) and that there is some other huge problem. Does this whole scenario sound plausible or should I be skeptical?
