Durango: The voltage light is coming on in my 2008 Dodge Durango.

Customer Question

The voltage light is coming on in my 2008 Dodge Durango. The manual says it could be a problem with the charging system. Can you tell me anything more specific?

Hello...welcome and thank you for using Justanswer. When they refer <charging system> this is your alternator ,if the light came ON ,that means your alternator is not charging the battery .The first step is connecting a voltmeter to the battery to see if it is charging between 13 to14.5 volts , if not... you should check all the fuses on the engine bay and also make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. Good luck.Let me know.Thank you
