Dodge: I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 in the dome light stays

Customer Question

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 in the dome light stays on

Go around to all the doors one at a time, open them and slam them and see if the light goes out. If not, open one door at a time and physically press each dome jamb switch to see if the light goes out. If it goes out now, check the switch for being loose, etc.
If it still doesn't go out, let me know and I'll look for a wiring diagram.

This should be the diagram,

If you remove fuse #12 in the junction block will the dome light go out?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes and so does the radio
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 years ago.
Do you still have access to both of the door jamb switches? If so, if you disconnect one or both does the light finally go out?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No

when you take the two door jamb switch is out too late still stays on
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 years ago.
What do you mean "too late"?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 years ago.
I need an answer. I don't understand what you just said.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
when you take the 2 door jamb switch is out at the same time the light still stays on
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 years ago.
The dome lamp circuit is supposed to ground through the door jamb switches and then to ground, so there must be a short. Just leave the door jamb switches disconnected for now. Moving back, disconnect the next spot.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
if the short is in the wire how would you tell
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 years ago.
That would mean disconnector the tan wire at pin 6 of joint connector 8. Then if the light is still on disconnect the tan wire at pin 18 and 19 of the same connector. Then move on.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
ok I'm giving up for the night I have to get to work I'll talk at you later
Expert:  Mike S. replied 2 years ago.
Once you disconnect something and the light finally goes out, that spot between there and the last connection is the bad spot, whether or not it's a wire, a connection or a switch. Depending on what, repair or replace the wire, check the connection or replace the part.

I tried to simplify the wiring diagram,
