1998 Dodge Ram 2500: the automatic transmission..shifting..serviced

Resolved Question:

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 the automatic transmission slips a little when
first shifting to drive in the morning. After driving a short distance it seems fine. The
truck is serviced every 3000 miles and fluid levels are fine. I use the truck to pull a
boat. Just wondering if this is normal ware or a sign of trouble.

Does the check engine light come on?

When was the last time the transmission fluid and filter was replaced?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

Hi Jeff; No check engine light has been on and I don't know if the service station has ever changed the fluid I would guess filters yes. I have owned this truck since new and

has 112,000 miles but a lot of in town driving. Today it slipped a little going from first to second just one time. It seemed fine after that. Sorry not much help I could check

with the service station for records.

I would check.......If not I suggest replacing the fluid and filter and also adjusting the bands. Most repair shops do not adjust the bands unless told to do it so I bet it has not been done
