when replacing primary timing chain on a 03 dodge durango 4.7l . how many links between timing marks on sprockets ? does the count include the markes?

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!

The mark on the crank sprocket will go straight down, and line up with the single plated link on the primary chain. The mark on the idler sprocket will be straight up also, and the dot lines up in between the two plated links on the chain. Here is a diagram showing the correct chain installation.
