2000 Dodge Dakota: lower ball joints..4x4..it easier to slip through

Resolved Question:

How do I remove the lower ball joints on my 2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4? It seems to have a lip on the top, which I took a grinder to hoping it would make it easier to slip through. I have a press, but i feel as if I'm going to break the press before it comes out of there. There is no snap ring or rivet. Is this stile meant to come out? Or do I have to replace the entire control arm?

The lower ball joint is not serviceable and you will need to replace the lower control arm if it is bad.
