My 2000 Dodge Caravan will not turn over. Brand new battery,

Resolved Question:

My 2000 Dodge Caravan will not turn over. Brand new battery, checked the starter at Autozone and it works. Moved the transmission thru gears. Reverse lights come on when supposed to. All lights come on when key is inserted and turned. Noticed that the headlights do not dim or go out when key is turned for start. Switched the starter relay with a new one. At a loss here.

hello, have you checked to see if you have power at the relay?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
we can hear the relay click when we turn the key
Expert:  quickcar replied 8 years ago.
ok that just means the relay coil is getting power , there should be power coming to the relay as well that the relay sends to the starter solenoid..

So i need to replace the relay in the box with all the fuses in the engine compartment? or are you talking about another relay? Also the car has an alarm. The alarm light blinks until you turn the key. Could the ignition cause this problem too? Thankyou

Expert:  quickcar replied 8 years ago.
if you hear the relay click when you turn the key it is most likely not the alarm or the ignition pull the starter relay out of the fuse box and look at the under side the terminals will be number, take and find number 30, then what spot that terminal goes into in the fuse box should have power if it doesnt then the fusebox needs replaced.

Ok. and if it does have power and the fuse box does not need replaced? is there an inline fuse or relay between the starter and there?
Expert:  quickcar replied 8 years ago.
if it does have power you still may need the box replaced as it may have an open in the circuit from there to the starter. or it may just be the wire from the box to the starter.
