good afternoon i'm bill

the codes you have are invalid meaning they do not exist in that form, all codes will have a letter (p,c,u,or b) followed by 4 numbers all engine codes are "p" codes where did you get them from

Customer: replied 8 years ago.
codes come from the truck where the odometer is. check engine light is on. I held buton for odometer set and turned switch on. turning switch on and off did not show codes.

you need a scan tool to acess any codes in the truck all you recieved were software version information and performed a self check on the instrument cluster the old way of key cycling went away with obd2 in 1996 since then the ONLY accurate way to get codes is with a scan tool.

autozone and advanced auto can retrieve them for you for free, OR if you are going to work on your truck a lot you can get a scan tool for a few hundred bucks for a good one or fifty or so for a reader only (will only give you the codes but NO other info)
