2002 dodge dakota: is extremly cold..same thing happened

Resolved Question:

My 2002 dodge dakota will not shift out of park. weather is extremly cold. Was able shift it into gear to get home but same thing happened again at home.

Yeah, we are -30C here and things just don't want to work correctly in this temp.......go figure....Wink


If you have snow as well, it may be packed up under the vehicle enough to inhibit the movement of the mechanical linkage to the transmission. You would need to get underneath and clear this away.


It may also be a problem with the shift interlock solenoid.
