I am trying to remove the starter from my 2000 Dodge Neon.

Customer Question

I am trying to remove the starter from my 2000 Dodge Neon. The bottom bolt cannot be removed because a large metal bracket is in the way. This bracket is attached to the motor and the transmission. The repair manual fails to mention this, so, what can I do?

remove the bracket. all you need to do is support the engine from the bottom, take the mount loose then it can be lowered and hang from its own weight and do no damage.
