I have pothole/pock acne scars on the two sides of my face

Customer Question

Hi, I have pothole/pock mark acne scars on the two sides of my face (biggest concern) and uneven skin tone from sun damage/skin redness (from cystic acne which doesn't flare up anymore with any postules). I am just learning how to take care of my face and how do I fill in my scars? and what is the best cheapest treatment preferably at home I could use? retinol has only smoothed the skin. scrubs and exfoliation including microderm do nothing to the scars, and i read chemical peels wouldn't do it either. Also, to touch it is smooth. I think due to cystic acne, excess skin and fine face hair (as women have) has grown over the marks. but it appears purplish red and pocked. How do i fix the uneven skin tone, pock/shadowed marks and under eye circles?

Have you considered something more medical like a IPL or microdermabrasion?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
i have done microdermabrasion at a beauty salon. not sure what IPL is. is there anything I can purchase for at home? what are all the options that will work?
Expert:  DocPhilMD replied 6 months ago.

Honestly, I don't think much at home will work.

IPL is laser resurfacing. It is probably the only thing that will work

Okay. How much can microderm actually do? only some and the uneven skin tone from damage, would that be fixed with IPL or something else?
Expert:  DocPhilMD replied 6 months ago.

It would be fixed with IPL or something else

microderm sometimes works wonders but it depends on the person

if it didn't help you, then move on to something else

is this helpful?
