Hi, My daughter has a cold in which she has a runny nose In which she is wiping her nose/lip a lot on anything she can get her hands on. Now it's cracked red and chapped on the top line of her lip. I just to make sure this not cold sores and just chapped lips. Help!Thanks!
JA: How long have you had the symptoms? What seems to make the symptoms worse or better?
Customer: She's had the cold for two days. Her lips look irritated since she the cold.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: She is on amoxicillin for an ear infection in which she has a cold as well.

This seems to be charring and abrasion of lips due to repeated irritation. It is not cold sores. Nothing much to worry about. Apply thick layer of vaseline over her lips specially at night when she sleeps.
