A skin sample can be sent to the lab.

Your doctor can examine this under magnification.

It might be something else.

Treatment is permethrine, prescription strength.

If you did that 3 times and you still have this, it is not likely scabies.

If permethrin fails, then lindane lotion can be used.

It is more powerful but more toxic.

If that fails, then Ivemectin, which is an oral medication.

note: over the counter medicines do not work.
