Hello!

It looks like a patch or tinea capitis ...that is a fungal skin infection in the scalp...you may have some benefit to use Nizoral shampoo daily but these can be stubborn and your doctor may also prescribe a course of an oral antifungal tablet to take ...

This combination would be the most effective

Yes ringworm is the common name for this condition ( it is not actually a worm of course )

A topical antifungal shampoo (such as Nizoral ) plus an oral antifungal pill ( such as Lamisil tablet daily --- that is by prescription although you can get shampoo over the counter )

These should clear it up for you
