You are describing hives.

The vast majority of hives are cause unknown, and as you describe them, they come and go.

They can be associated with allergy, with autoimmune disease, and with mast cell disease although you are not describing the array of symptoms that go along with this.

I would suggest that you see an allergist/immunologist.
