I am 67 and over the last three year the skin on my scalp comes off in clumps, most of which I pick at, clumps being less than a mm, is this a physical abnormality which can be treated?

This is Dr. David

you could be having dandruff or psoriasis of your scalp.

dandruff is from a skin fungal infection of the scalp which can cause flakes and dead skin to flake off on your scalp.

medicated dandruff shampoos can help this.

let me know if you have questions.
