I've had yellow crust form on my lower lip in the mornings,

Customer Question

I've had yellow crust form on my lower lip in the mornings, and some inflammation also. I think it's from over exposure to the sun, and I've been using blistex and Chapstick to help ease the pain, but the crust keeps coming back and it doesn't seem to be healing. Do I keep the yellow crust there to let it heal? And how long will this last?

I've had this going on for about 10 days already

Hi there,

I am Dr. Hoellering and pleased to help you.

Yes, you should leave the crust there and don't use your creams any more. They make it worse when the crust is already there. Toothpaste during the night cools and dries the crust. It might take another ten days until it heals. If not, please see your doctor.

I wish you all the best!

How are you doing this morning? Can I help you some more?

If not, please hit a positive rating button for me, because otherwise I won't get any credit for my help. This won't cost you an extra cent.

All the best!
