If you have just a few spots of lichen planus, the treatment I prefer would be injection of cortisone into the spots. Otherwise the use of a potent steroid such as Clobetesol Dipropionate or Halbetesol. A shot of cortisone is also used by some dermatologists though I prefer other treatments. Calcineurin inhibitors such as Protopic are also effective. If there is no response Flagyl has been reported as effective though I personally have never tried this on any of my patients.

I am assuming you are requesting advice regarding skin oral planus, oral lichen planus is a whole different discussion.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
