There are rare instances of both BCC (Basal Cell Carcinoma) and SCC (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) occuring in the same patient at different locations but per se BCC does not turn into SCC. SCC and BCC belong to a group of skin cancers called Non- Melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) and have no potential to transform into a melanoma.

If left untreated BCC usually spreads in the skin and can cause large disfiguring lesions. It does not metastasize normally but very long standing ulcerated BCCs sometimes can. Hence I would not recommending leaving BCCs unattended.

Hope this helps!
