I have a bump on my back. Its hard and about a size of a dime.

Resolved Question:

I have a bump on my back. It's hard and about a size of a dime. It's been there for a week. I thought it was a pimple and tried squeezing it but nothing really came out. I tried rubbing alchohol and an oxy creme but it's not working. Is it anything serious or will it go away eventually?

You should try Burow's compresses on it. This can be obtained at any pharmacy. Put a tablet or packet in a 1/2 quart of luke warm water and compress. Do this twice a day for twenty minutes. If this does not cause the lesion to go down after three days, I would consult with a physician. This may be an epidermal inclusion cyst, sometimes mistakenly called a sebaceous cyst or wen. You definitely do NOT want to squeeze these: if they are infected you may spread the infection.
