Is there any associated burning pain in that area?

No, this is a very itchy rash of raised, bright red dots. Seems to have appeared about a week after knee surgery. I checked to see if any iodine related products were used to prep the skin. No. Hexachlorophine wash was used. The involved area reminds me of a thousand bug bites.
