Will grinding my teeth break my dental crowns?

This answer was rated:

Will grinding my teeth break my dental crowns?

Good question!

Permanent crowns will not break by grinding. They are much harder than normal teeth with enamel. And although the enamel on the outside of your teeth is the hardest substance in your body, it too will wear down with grinding. So, best to try to not grind, or get a bite guard made by your Dentist which will make it so your teeth will not get worn down. But if grinding continues long enough the enamel on your teeth wears down firstly, as even though it is the hardest thing in your body, the crowns put over your teeth are even harder, so the crowns really can NEVER be worn out by grinding in answering your question. I hope this helps you!
