Why don't you remove the wisdom teeth before they come in?

Customer Question

Why don't you remove the wisdom teeth before they come in? It is much less painful and less chance of infection?

Removal of wisdom teeth is done on a case by case basis. All wisdom teeth do not need to be removed. The biggest problem is spacing because many people do not have room for them to erupt.Interfering with them if there is no indication to remove them could cause other problems like infection, nerve damage, and periodontal problems.Wisdom tooth removal in a 15 year old is generally not recommended except in rare cases.Do you have an X-ray of the 15 year old in question that you can upload?
