I had a large cavity in tooth #3 when I was much younger, 20

Customer Question

Hi Mark,
I had a large cavity in tooth #3 when I was much younger, 20 years old in 1966. The first dentist I visited said the cavity was so large that the only option was extraction. I got a second opinion and that dentist filled the tooth. For years it bothered me and I knew it wasn't exactly right, and in 1996 I had a root canal. The endodonist said one of the canals was calcified, but did nothing about it except give me some antibiotics. Again this tooth never felt right and I avoided chewing on that side of my mouth. Now, this tooth is hurting all the time -what are my options? Thanks, Connie
