gum swollen,around a bridge,I feel a lump, slightly painful..should I wait to ave it looked when I know Ill have a few days off ..what will my dentist do, after he exrays it?

If you are having a painful lump around a bridge area, it is likely that one of the teeth that is supporting the bridge has an abscess. In that case you need to go to have an examination as soon as possible. The more you wait, the more likely you will end up with worse prognosis of the tooth involved and even the possibility of loosing your bridge.
