Most of the time nothing. It will usually just pass on through. But....
Yes, there is a chance it can cause problem. The tooth can perforate the intestines, get caught/trapped, may need surgical removal. If there is any question that the tooth has passed, an upper GI and lower GI x-ray can be taken.

If you are concerned, strain your stool in order to find the tooth. Your body won't break the tooth down.
