Great question.

It is unlikely that your hearing loss is related to the wisdom teeth. Hearing loss is related to your eardrum and the bones of the inner ear, which has no direct correlation with your wisdom teeth. However, your earache can be a cause of your wisdom tooth. What you should understand is that your wisdom teeth are often closely associated with major nerves of the facial structures. The nerves, when pressured by a wisdom tooth, can cause an ache or pain along their path, or where they innervate. The ear is no exception, as it has direct correlation with nerves that can run or pass close to your wisdom teeth. If you have an infection of your wisdom teeth, this could cause more severe pain in your ear b/c the infection will increase the pressure around a tooth and nerve, if it is close by.

You should contact your dentist about this problem and have him/her take a panoramic x ray to see if there is an association between your wisdom tooth and any nerves, or if your tooth is infected or impacted. The best treatment for an infected or impacted wisdom tooth is normally removal. In the meantime, take Ibuprofen to help with the ear ache until you see a dentist.
