You would need to retain a criminal defense Attorney to assist you with this very serious case. If you cannot afford to hire an Attorney, the State MUST appoint one for you. You would need the Attorney to do thorough investigation of the evidence against you and subpoena witnesses to testify on your behalf. So, if a witness refuses to get a involved, the witness must appear in Court and tell the Court why he/she is refusing to testify. You cannot do these things on your own. You would need an Attorney on your side.
