Cash sent via Fedex missing. What can I do?

Customer Question

I sent 4K cash via Fedex. The box was delivered but it was tampered with and the cash is gone. Of course, I didn’t declare it. What recourse do I have if any? This is in Ohio, Arizona.

Under the circumstances and since shipping cash via Fedex is prohibited, you have no legal recourse. Items you cannot ship include:
Biological materials such as bacteria or virus samples
Firearms, weapons and their parts
Flammable and explosive chemicals or products
Hazardous waste materials
Live animals
Lottery tickets and other gambling items
Money, including cash instruments, currency, coins, and other forms of money or cash equivalents.
Any item prohibited by local law in the destination country
