I am scheduled to go on a cruise and have an A misdemeanor

Customer Question

I am scheduled to go on a cruise and have an A misdemeanor warrant for criminal trespass out of Indiana, will I be picked up by customs?
JA: Since laws vary from place to place, what state is this in? And when was the warrant issued?
Customer: In Indiana and the warrant was issued almost 6 months ago
JA: Have you talked to a lawyer yet?
Customer: No, I didn't know I had the warrant until my employer told me
JA: Anything else you think the lawyer should know?
Customer: I wasn't even at the place when the incident happened.

Good morning. Yes it is possible. When your passport is checked and you go through customs the warrant could appear. If it does and it is active then they can take you into custody. In a situation like this a party would want to file a motion asking that he warrant he lifted and the case reset so they can appear. This way they can handle and resolve this and go on the cruise without issue

Can I file a motion on my own without turning myself in and having to pay?

Having to pay what?
