In general, under Federal law the simple possession of methamphetamine in an amount consistent with personal use could result in a civil fine up to $10,000, if you have no previous conviction for controlled substances. If the government does not wish to proceed civilly, there would be a maximum possible incarceratory penalty of a year in jail.
