If you are subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury and choose not to do so, you can face criminal contempt charges. So, yes, it is possible for you to spend some time in jail for failure to testify against your boyfriend.

If you are a complainant on the case and you are expected to testify but your interest and the DA's are not the same, you should come in with a lawyer and see if he can work something out so that you're not charged with a crime for non-compliance.
