VerifiedHello,Thank you for the information and your question. Public urination in State College violates the local ordinance that was cited on your ticket/citation. That is section 1003(1)(a). It is what is know as a "summary offense." That means that it doesn't carry any potential for jail but is considered the lowest level criminal offense in the State. It is below a misdemeanor. If you want to plead guilty, just follow the directions on the citation and pay your ticket. You're welcome. Yes, there is a fine. As far as further implications, it will be on your record, but most applications for jobs or background checks will ask if the person has been convicted of a crime "other than summary offenses" or ask if the person has been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. You could answer no to both of those. However, if the question is super broad and just asks if you have been convicted of a criminal offense, you would have to say yes, and then list a summary offense.
