It involves being on a chat/meet app called Skout...meeting a girl who claimed to be 18, but later found to be 16 going on 17 getting into a sexual conversation and her sending naked pictures and videos of herself that I didn't ask for. This was all done after she gave me her cell phone number. I used a texting app. The next day, I received threatening text from the father saying that the mom found the texts and was going to the sheriff. The father then called me on the TextNow app number and asked how this all began and how long it was going on. Went on to talk about the girl getting in a fight with her mom, throwing a cup at her and punching a sliding glass door, resulting in the need for 19 stitches. He was going to talk to his wife and calm her down. He is currently in South Carolina finishing up business, as his family recently moved to Indianapolis. He will be moving here in a week or so. He didn't want to report things as it would negatively affect his daughter's scholarship. Today he called and told me that I was responsible for the daughter breaking the glass of the sliding door and that if I paid him $1800, he wouldn't report anything and we'd solve it between ourselves. Felt like I may have been set up for extortion, so I talked to a lawyer and found out that the age of consent is 16 in Indiana. While we talked about meeting, we never exchanged addresses and no plans were made. I realized right after it happened that I had made a huge mistake in a moment of stupidity and had no actual intent of ever meeting the girl. But pics were sent by her of her...because she claimed she likes taking those kind of selfies and sending them. I didn't ask for them. I wasn't sure if she was 16 or 18. I immediately deleted her phone number with all the pics and texts from the texting app. Not sure what to do.… read more
