Your domestic problems with your ex may or may not earn you the sympathy of the DA or the judge, but regardless it does not give you the right to intentionally and maliciously damage his property. Finally, there is only one way to remove a warrant and that is for the defendant, or a lawyer on that defendant's behalf, to appear before the judge who issued the warrant and fight the case. I suggest you get your self representation in Florida and show up with him in court. If you're correct and there's no real evidence linking you to the damage to your ex's car, this case can end favorably to you. But if you don't show up to address it, the case will sit in a file of other warrant matters and that warrant will be out there against you for as long as it will take you to come back.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but warrant situations are NEVER good news. Wishing that it will go away, or convincing yourself that you don't deserve the warrant will get you nowhere. You've got to come back to court or hire a lawyer to do it for you in order to get rid of a warrant.
