Could the American people start a class action against Obamacare for extortion
Hi, My name is Philip. I am an attorney with over 16 years experience. Hopefully I can help you with your legal question.

I am very sorry to have to bear bad news.

What you describe is not a basis for a class action suit. In order to file a class action suit, you would have to be able to prove a "tort" (a tort is a civil wrong). Common examples of class action cases are defective product cases (for example, if a drug company released a drug that is overly dangerous) or fraud cases (example would be where a person or company defrauds many individuals)

Extortion is a tort...but the problem you have is that the President is immune from suit for acting within the scope of his office. The immunity stems from the Federal Tort Claims Act. This is the federal law that limits how a person or company can sue the US Government.

Under the FTCA, you can not sue a politician for actions they take in office.

So it is not possible to sue him for this. Nor could one sue Congress.

Again, I am very sorry to have to bear bad news.
